Maurice W. Goldblatt is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Biochemist, research on prostaglandins
Goldblatt was a British biochemist and physiologist who, in 1935, reported an active substance in human seminal fluid that lowered blood pressure and stimulated smooth muscle, one of the first observations of what would later be named prostaglandins, an important class of signalling molecules. His finding, made independently around the same time as Ulf von Euler's, helped open a major field of physiology and pharmacology.
He is listed among Jewish biomedical scientists in Jewish biographical reference works; independent documentation of his background is limited.
