Maud Nathan was a suffragist and consumer-rights reformer from a distinguished New York Sephardic Jewish family. As president of the Consumers' League of New York (1897–1927) she fought to improve conditions for working women, and she organized and lectured for woman suffrage nationally and internationally. She remained active in Jewish communal life while championing women's economic and political rights.
