Glickman was an American sprinter and pioneering sports broadcaster who, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, was pulled at the last moment from the U.S. 4x100m relay along with fellow Jewish athlete Sam Stoller, widely seen as an accommodation to Nazi antisemitism. He went on to a legendary broadcasting career, defining the play-by-play style for football and basketball. He was Jewish, the son of Romanian Jewish immigrants.
