Malcolm Frager

Frager was an American concert pianist who won two of the era's most important competitions — the Leventritt (1959) and the Queen Elisabeth in Brussels (1960) — launching an international career. Known for meticulous scholarship, he championed original manuscripts and urtext editions, restoring composers' true intentions in works by Beethoven, Weber and Schumann. He is documented among Jewish musicians.
