Joshua Solomon Soncino was a member of the Soncino family, the pioneering Jewish Hebrew printers of Renaissance Italy who took their name from the Lombard town of Soncino. He was a rabbinic Jew whose press issued the first complete printed Hebrew Bible at Soncino on 22 April 1488, a landmark in the history of the printed book. The family later printed Talmud tractates and other Hebrew works across Italy and the Ottoman Empire.
