Jerome Singer

Singer was a psychologist at Yale often called 'the father of daydreaming', whose research established mind-wandering and 'positive-constructive daydreaming' as normal, adaptive aspects of imaginative thought, and who studied children's play and the effects of television. He co-developed influential imagery-based methods in clinical psychology. He is widely listed among Jewish American psychologists, though the biographical sources consulted do not detail his religious identity.
