Gustave Aufricht was a Jewish plastic surgeon who trained under Jacques Joseph, the pioneer of modern rhinoplasty, before emigrating to the United States. The source notes that he remained in the USA out of antisemitic concerns similar to those of Jacques Maliniac. He went on to co-found the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, helping to shape the discipline in America.
