Gloria Steinem

Gloria Steinem is an American journalist and one of the most influential leaders of the twentieth-century feminist movement, a co-founder of 'Ms.' magazine and of the National Women's Political Caucus, and a lifelong campaigner for women's and civil rights. Her Jewish identity is partial and paternal: her father, Leo Steinem, was Jewish while her mother was Presbyterian; she was not raised in the faith but has publicly identified with her Jewish heritage and spoken forcefully against antisemitism.
