Gary Graffman is an American classical pianist who was among the leading virtuosos of the postwar era, and after a right-hand injury became an influential teacher and president of the Curtis Institute of Music, mentoring pianists including Lang Lang and Yuja Wang. He was born in New York to Russian-Jewish émigré parents and is Jewish.
