Ethan Jordan Bortnick was born on 24 December 2000 in Pembroke Pines, Florida, to Hannah and Gene Bortnick, Jewish immigrants from Ukraine. He began playing the piano at three and composing at five. On 3 October 2010, aged nine, Guinness World Records listed him as the world's youngest solo musician to headline his own concert tour, and the same year he became the youngest artist to headline a national PBS concert special, The Power of Music. He has headlined more than a thousand concerts, opened for Elton John, Gladys Knight and Tony Bennett, and helped raise over fifty million dollars for charities; he signed with Columbia Records in 2021 and released the albums Harmonic Minor and Luna Park.
