Eleanor Antin (née Fineman) is an American conceptual, performance and film artist known for inventing fictional personae and for The Man Without a World (1991), in which she fabricated a lost 1920s Yiddish-Russian filmmaker. Her work often draws on Jewish memory and yiddishkeit, most explicitly as a tribute to her mother. She was born in the Bronx to Polish-Jewish immigrant parents and is Jewish.
