Edward Kleban was an American lyricist and composer, born to a Jewish family in the Bronx, best known as the lyricist of 'A Chorus Line', for which he shared the 1976 Tony Award for Best Original Score and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. His will established the Kleban Prize for musical-theatre writers.
