Edmund Loewe was a Jewish operetta tenor of Viennese background who performed throughout Europe and the Americas in the early 20th century, notably starring as Count Danilo in the 1906 Berlin production of 'The Merry Widow'. He was the father of the celebrated Broadway composer Frederick Loewe. Documented dates and places for his own life are not widely recorded; he is Jewish.
