Buck Henry was an American screenwriter, actor and director who co-wrote the screenplay for The Graduate (an Oscar nomination) and Catch-22, and co-created the spy spoof television series Get Smart with Mel Brooks. He co-directed Heaven Can Wait, which brought a second Oscar nomination. His father, Paul Steinberg Zuckerman, was Jewish.
