How & why

Awerbuch is an Israeli-American computer scientist at Johns Hopkins University who, with David Peleg, won the 2008 Dijkstra Prize for pioneering work on sparse partitions in distributed network algorithms. Educated at the Technion in Haifa, he is Israeli and of Jewish background. His results are foundational to the theory of distributed and network computation.
