Asked by Milton Bradley for something to mark the firm's hundredth year, Reuben Klamer took its 1860 Checkered Game of Life and rebuilt it around a spinner and a plastic landscape of hills, with cars carrying peg families through college, marriage and retirement. It has been in print since 1960.
