Fiverr

Fiverr is an online marketplace where freelancers sell services — writing, translation, graphic design, video editing, programming — to anyone who needs them. It was launched in Tel Aviv on 1 February 2010 by the Israeli entrepreneurs Micha Kaufman and Shai Wininger, and takes its name from the flat five-dollar price attached to every task at the start. The idea was that a piece of skilled work could be bought as simply as an object, which gave people living where their trade has no local market a way to sell it anywhere. It now reaches freelancers and businesses in an estimated 160 countries, and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2019.
