Check Point Software, founded in 1993 by Israeli entrepreneur Gil Shwed with Shlomo Kramer and Marius Nacht, pioneered the modern stateful-inspection firewall that secures corporate networks worldwide. Shwed is often described as a father of the modern firewall. The company remains one of Israel's flagship cybersecurity firms.
